Check out some art

Salt Lake City artist Anne Becker represents nature and urban landscapes in simplified colors and exaggerated shapes using collage and paint. "By being very selective and perhaps unrealistic about the shapes and colors I chose, I am creating an image of my choosing to project into the world, as we all do in one way or another," says Becker, a graduate of the University of Utah.

Beyond snapshots

"Camera Vivant" highlights the works of eight contemporary artists working in photography, video and installation who are exploring the intersection of still and moving images intersecting with performance. Caméra vivant is a descendant of "tableau vivant," or living picture, an 18th-century parlor game in which costumed individuals posed in carefully arranged tableaus. In caméra vivant, the artist maintains meticulous control over all aspects of the video or photograph.
