A steady stream of people will be making the trek to Park City in the coming weeks, from New York, Hollywood, Salt Lake City and places unknown, all of us following the siren song of the Sundance Film Festival.

Here are some tips to help you plan ahead so you don't get caught by meters or become a casualty of the astronomically high parking tickets.

Here's some info to help you navigate the parking scene during the festival:

China Bridge parking lot: Park City lot, $20 per entry, no overnight parking; $350 for a permit, good throughout the festival, available at http://www.parkcity.org or 435-615-5301.

Brew pub Lot: Southern end of Main Street, $16 for 3 hours, metered.

Flagpole Lot: Swede Alley, between Heber Avenue and 5th Street, $20 per entry (no overnight parking).

Swede Alley Lot: Near 5th Street; $20 per entry.

The Yard Park and Ride: 1251 Kearns Blvd., Park City, $10 per entry (nearby walking distance to Holiday Village Cinemas).

Monitor Drive Parking Lot: Limited free parking 3 p.m.-midnight (no parking on Sunday); walking distance of Eccles and Racquet Club theaters.

Lots F and G: On Prospector Avenue, south of Sundance Festival Headquarters; cash fee per entry, price to be announced. Park this way

The Park City Public Works's parking division offers these tips:

• Just as last year, both sides of Main Street, from 9th Street to the top of Main, have been designated as No Parking areas. That means you can use the street only as a 15-minute drop-and-load zone.

• Deer Valley Resort offers free parking in lots 5 and 6 after 5 p.m.

• The lot at Treasure Mountain Middle School, 2530 Kearns Blvd., will be available for free parking on weekends.
