High West Distillery in Park City will unveil The 36th Vote, a new barrel-aged Manhattan, on Sunday, Dec. 5, at 5:32 p.m. This trendy, bottled cocktail is two parts rye whiskey and one part vermouth that has been aged in oak barrels for three months. The unveiling will take place at the exact date and time the Utah Legislature ratified the 21st Amendment in 1933. The vote made Utah the 36th and deciding state to repeal Prohibition. Bottles will be sold only at the distillery, 703 Park Ave., for $49 each.

Party Metro style

Metropolitan will celebrate its 15th anniversary Saturday, Nov. 20, with food, live music and specialty wine and beer pairings. "A Street Party — Metro Style" begins at 6:30 p.m. at 173 W. 300 South, Salt Lake City. Food is $45. Alcoholic beverages are an additional $45. For reservations, call 801-364-3472.

Beaujolais fest

On the third Thursday of November, cities across the globe celebrate the release of Nouveau Beaujolais. Utahns can enjoy this fruity "new wine" Thursday, Nov. 18, at the fourth annual Beaujolais Nouveau Festival at La Caille, 9565 Wasatch Blvd., Sandy. This benefit for the Muscular Dystrophy Association includes food, entertainment and a live and silent auction. Tickets are $150 per person. Call 801-278-6200.
