Provo • BYU athletics has launched a new website to tout the accomplishments of All-American linebacker Kyle Van Noy, who is on seven watch lists for various national awards.

The site can be found at KVN3.com.

Van Noy has garnered preseason and midseason first-team All-America recognition in 2013 and is a 6-foot-3, 245-pound senior from Reno, Nev. The site says he is the only player in the Football Bowl Subdivision the past two seasons to record a statistic in every major defensive category while also scoring a BYU-record five touchdowns as a defender over his career.

He has scored a touchdown during each season at BYU, including two pick-six interception returns and three fumble recoveries for TDs. This year he added a safety.

Van Noy entered Friday's game with 26 career sacks, which is the second-most nationally among active players.

Personnel news

Senior receiver Skyler Ridley was suspended for the first half of Friday's game due to a "targeting" hit on a Houston player in last week's game. Review of a third-quarter block apparently revealed the transgression.

Senior Mike Hague, once a fullback for the BYU offense, got his first-ever start at boundary cornerback. Tyler Beck got the start in place of Austen Jorgensen at buck linebacker.

October not frightful for Boise State

Boise State entered Friday night's game having won its last 50 games played in the month of October.

The streak started on Oct. 13, 2001 after a 45-14 loss to Rice the previous week. This group of BSU seniors are the 12th group of seniors to have won at least 40 games in their careers.
