Las Vegas • BYU's women's basketball team was eliminated at the West Coast Conference tournament Saturday afternoon, falling 62-45 to top-seeded Gonzaga in a semifinal at Orleans Arena.

The Cougars figured they would have to play close to a perfect game to upset the Zags, but instead shot the ball poorly and committed 22 turnovers.

The Cougars shot 33 percent from the field, while Gonzaga shot 37 percent and never really was threatened.

Shelby Cheslek led all scorers with 16 points for Gonzaga (26-5). Morgan Bailey led BYU with 12 points as the Cougars fell to 21-10 overall. —
