The pollsters have noticed.

After beating two ranked teams, the BYU women's volleyball team breaks into the top 25 at No. 21 in the AVCA Coaches' Poll, the first time the Cougars have been ranked since 2007. It gives the West Coast Conference three schools in the top 25.

BYU (6-0) received 375 votes following victories against No. 24 Colorado State and 14th-ranked Tennessee in the Shocker Volleyball Classic title. Pepperdine is No. 12 and San Diego No. 17.

Off to its best start since 2006, BYU hosts its own invitational Friday and Saturday, including its home opener against rival Utah at 7 p.m. in the Smith Fieldhouse. On Saturday, the Cougars meet Bowling Green at noon and Portland State at 7 p.m.
