BYU’s Michaelis to be inducted into the WCC Hall of Honor

Former BYU coach Elaine Michaelis into the has been inducted into the BYU, AVCA, UNGWS and Utah Summer Games halls of fame. Now she can add the West Coast Conference.

The league will induct Michaelis into the 2012 WCC Hall of Honor on March 3 in Las Vegas during the conference basketball championships.

Michaelis held head coach positions for BYU’s women’s volleyball, women’s basketball, women’s field hockey and softball teams. She was also Director of Women’s Intercollegiate Athletics at BYU from 1995-2004.

Michaelis, who began in 1961 and retired in 2002, is the second winningest coach in NCAA Division I volleyball history and has the most wins of a female volleyball coach at any level.
