The BYU club men's lacrosse team won the 2011 Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association national championship over the weekend — its fourth in team history giving BYU a tie for the most titles of any program in the league.

The Cougars edged past Arizona State 10-8 in a game that was tight until the end. Ted Ferrin and Andrew Harding scored in the final minute to help give BYU the final boost.

Ferrin finished with three goals in the comeback win, helping lead the fight after the Sun Devils took a two-goal lead in the first quarter. A five-goal explosion in the second quarter helped BYU garner a 6-4 lead by halftime — a lead they never surrendered.

In the net was Wes Goar, replacing injured starter Matt Bradenburg, whose late saves help preserve the Cougars' win.

The championship, BYU's first since 2007, gives the Cougars a tie with Colorado State for most MCLA titles with four. This is head coach Matt Schenk's first title with BYU in his second year.
