Junior safety Tevin Carter, whose status for tonight's game against Oregon State was "up in the air," according to coach Kyle Whittingham, will not play.

Carter indicated Thursday that he did not make the trip with the Utes to Corvallis, Oregon, tweeting: "Love my team wish I could be there but I know they gone [sic] go in today!"

After picking off a pass in the Utes' last game, against UCLA, Carter subsequently exited with an undisclosed injury and did not return.

While Whittingham said last week, when the Utes had a bye, that he was "optimistic" that Carter would be available to take on Sean Mannion and the Beavers, teammates seemed to indicate differently this week, speaking of Carter's season in the past tense.
