After a big recruiting push last week, the Utes have a quiet weekend ahead of them, at least where official visits are concerned. Clarence Smith, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound running back/linebacker from Youngker H.S. in Buckeye, Ariz., and Sebastian LaRue, a wide receiver from Santa Monica H.S. were planning to visit. However, LaRue committed to Texas A&M Thursday and cancelled his trip. Had a few questions about what the Utes are doing to help the kicking game. Three players, Andrew Gantz, Chris Callahan and Jay Mattox are all possibilities for the Utes although kicking coach guru Chris Sailer said no scholarship offers have been made. That isn't unusual for the Utes, who normally try to get kickers to come as walk ons. - Lya Wodraska
