First it was Utah State, now it's BYU and Wisconsin. Utah's passing game coordinator Aaron Roderick is a wanted man if you believe all the internet rumors. However, don't plan Roderick's farewell party just yet.
Roderick has not been contacted by either BYU or Wisconsin about possibly joining the staffs at those respective schools, the Salt Lake Tribune has learned. It's logical to think both schools would be interested in him since Roderick played at BYU in 1997 and 1998 and served as a graduate assistant at the school.
Roderick also served as Gary Andersen's offensive coordinator at SUU in 2003-04 before joining the Utes in 2005.
Since then, his career with Utah has been a turbulent one. He left briefly for Washington, only to change his mind and return to the Utes before he even settled into an office in Seattle.
He was named co-offensive coordinator in 2010, then moved to wide receivers in 2011 when the Utes hired Norm Chow. When Chow left to become the head coach at Hawaii, Roderick was passed over for the offensive coordinator's position with the Utes in favor of Brian Johnson but was named the passing game coordinator.
Roderick didn't hide the fact he was disappointed he didn't get the coordinator's position, but has remained loyal to the school. He makes a base salary of $200,000 which could make it hard for other schools to tear him away from the Utes.
