Utah coach Kyle Whittingham has often talked about Utah's transition to the Pac-12 being a process. That adjustment was acknowledged by several in today's Tribune article as few are surprised at Utah's struggles in the BCS league. While fans might be getting anxious for the Utes to contend for division titles, Utah athletic director Chris Hill gave his coach a vote of confidence this week as he sounded very much like Whittingham when asked how long it should take before the Utes are winning. His answer was, in short, as long as it takes. "The reality is it's not a matter of judging a team, but of knowing this is a huge challenge," he said. "We're into this challenge early and we are going to keep working at it and going from there. There is really nothing more you can do than that right now." Hill said he does want the Utes going for the division title as "often as we can," but acknowledged such consistency will take time to reach. "We have to gear up for it," he said. "But we need to set our sights and get there." - Lya Wodraska
