The Utes got a big point guard commitment Thursday. How big? Try 6-foot-5.

San Francisco City College guard Delon Wright, the younger brother of Philadelphia 76ers small forward Dorell Wright, committed to Utah on Thursday after he visited campus last weekend. Wright will have two years of eligibility remaining when he joins the Utes next summer.

Wright, a sophomore, is the reigning North Coast Conference MVP and was the Division I CIF Player of the Year at Los Angeles's Leuzinger High School. Wright picked the Utes over schools such as Washington, Washington State, Gonzaga and St. Mary's.

For the Utes, Wright takes off much of the sting of losing a commitment from Las Vegas point guard Julian Jacobs, who reopened his recruiting in August.
