Utah are expected to debut white-on-black helmets Saturday at Arizona State, although coach Kyle Whittingham said earlier this week, "They don't make you tackle any better or block any better, so I think they are irrelevant."

The Utes unveiled an all-black (although with red stenciling on the helmets) look this week in a rather intense video. The Utes announced the black helmets would be utilized for the Oct. 27 blackout game against Cal and that the helmet would be worn periodically throughout the season. However, the Utes practiced in all black helmets Wednesday and the Utah football equipment staff's Twitter feed posted the photo you see above today, with the note, "Star Lotulelei's helmet for Saturday." So, apparently it's a go for Saturday in Tempe.
