Utah will use its final remaining scholarship on wing Dakari Tucker, The Tribune learned late Wednesday.
Tucker completes coach Larry Krystkowiak's first true recruiting class with the Utes and ends the process of rebuilding a team that lost six scholarship players who transferred out of the program following a 6-25 season.
Tucker, a 6-foot-5 scorer, played at Serra (Calif.) High School. He earned CIF Division 4AA Player of the Year honors after his senior season, and was named to the Southern Section first team. The Utes expect him to send his National Letter of Intent Thursday morning.
He becomes the fifth perimeter player to join the Utes for next season, after Loyola Marymount transfer Jarred DuBois signed earlier this week, and the Utes previously signed prep guards Justin Seymour (Smyrna, Ga.) and Brandon Taylor (West Hollywood, Calif.), as well as West Jordan High School forward Jordan Loveridge.
Utah has also signed forwards Jeremy Olsen (Lawrenceville, Ga.), Dallin Bachynski (Calgary, Alberta) and Renan Lenz (Arizona Western JC).
