Before we get to the results from Sunday night, here's a pretty exhaustive review of the Utah basketball experience from an outsider's perspective. Things such as nearby restaurants get good grades, while fans, parking and the Huntsman Center are generally panned.
For TV puposes, two Pac-12 games were moved to Sunday. Let's just say that neither of them was a quadruple overtime thriller.
Cal 77, Oregon 60 • Remember when the Utes were recruiting Allen Crabbe? Well, he stars now for Cal and on Sunday he lit up the Ducks for 26 points. And if you think it's a stretch to give all the credit to one player, consider this lede from The Oregonian's Lindsay Schnell: "If the Oregon men’s basketball team is lucky, maybe Allen Crabbe will be sick when the Ducks go to Berkeley in February."
Arizona 57, USC 46 • The Trojans aren't just bad, they're — well, actually, they're just bad. USC is the Pac-12's last remaining winless team, and has lost five straight. By halftime the Wildcats doubled USC's output, 32-16, and Arizona led by as many as 30.
Elsewhere, Arizona State may have gotten better by getting worse. Coach Herb Sendek on Sunday dismissed leading scorer Keala King for "unacceptable conduct."
