Utah gymnasts don't get win, but show they have fight

Thought for sure Utah's gymnasts were doomed for a horrible meet after they opened a point behind UCLA Sunday. Totally thought wrong as they came back to lose just 196.075-196.025.
Sure one could say if the Utes hadn't struggled so much on the uneven bars where they scored a 48.45 they could have won, but what was most impressive to me was the way they fought back.
UCLA coach Valorie Kondos Field was angry with her team after the meet, saying they need to understand how important it is to win the regular season meets and that they can't just wait until the post-season to turn it on.
There is no such problem with the Utes, who in recent seasons have shown a knack for battling out of difficult situations.
In the past, that has meant the Utes have salvaged poor starts to have decent finishes.
This year could be different. The Utes are very talented and could contend for the national title. Who knows, maybe that talent and the fight showed Sunday could translate into a very, very good year for the Utes.
