The Utes technically don't open camp until Thursday, but they have their first order of business this evening with a team meeting.
Among the things that will be discussed is the team's outlook. With all the attention and excitement given to the Utes' move to the Pac-12, Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said he'll make sure his team is in the right frame of mind as it heads into camp.
"They're a good group and I know they'll be focused," he said.
However, he'll still remind them that football is football no matter what league they are a part of and that Utah's philosophy or the way the Utes go about training camp won't change.
That means you can expect to hear a lot about the season opener and not that looming Pac-12 schedule.
"We're focusing on Montana State right now," Whittingham said.
FYI on the practices, they are closed to the general public.
In fact, the Utes are tightening the media policy this year as well. Media members are only allowed to watch the last 30 minutes of each day of camp and the last 30 minutes of the Tuesday and Wednesday practices in the regular season. In the past, media members were allowed to watch Monday's practices as well.
Whittingham said he decided to close Monday's practice to be more in line with other schools.
Utah is one of the more accommodating teams when it comes to media requests so we'll still be able to provide you with plenty of coverage.
