Utah coach Kyle Whittingham didn't sound too hopeful last week when I spoke to him that offensive linemen Benji Kemoueatu and Po'u Palelei would make it into fall camp. He said the Utes couldn't plan on having either one of them, which now sounds like a good stance to take. The Utes should know Palelei's status by the end of the week while it's looking even more doubtful that Kemoueatu will join the team in the fall, which would be the latest development in a long saga for Kemoueatu. The 6-foot-5, 350-pound junior committed to the Utes in 2008 as one of the top rated centers by several recruiting services. However, he changed his mind and signed with West Virginia, but failed to qualify and instead enrolled at Lackawanna Community College. Now it's still up in the air as to whether the younger brother of former Utes Chris and Ma'ake Kemoueatu will make it to the Utah campus. The Utes I know would love to have him and Palelei. The Utes had trouble keeping offensive linemen healthy in spring camp which resulted in a lot of jostling of the lineup. They'd like to have a firmer depth chart in place for the season and finding bodies to fill those spots is going to be a huge priority when camp opens Thursday.
