Utah basketball coach Larry Krystkowiak continues to fill out his team's roster, getting a commitment from Javon Dawson, a 6-foot-7, 260-pound forward out of Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Fl. Dawson was headed to Colorado State, where recently hired assistant DeMarlo Slocum coached, but instead is going to Utah, according to the Panama City Beach News Herald. Dawson missed the 2010-11 basketball season after suffering a torn knee ligament in the preseason. He averaged eight points and seven rebounds as a freshman. Dawson was a multi-sport athlete at Crisp County H.S. in Cordele, Ga., where he played quarterback and receiver for the football team. Additionally, Corbin Green, the younger brother of former Utah player Shaun Green, has committed to the Utes, he said. The 6-foot-5, 180-pound Green starred at Olympus H.S. before playing for Snow College. The Utes are also in the running for Green's teammate, Travis Wilkins, a 6-foot-3 freshman out of Springfield, Missouri who averaged 18 points. Wilkins, who is also being recruited by BYU, is visiting the Utes today. The Utes have received letters of intent from Kareem Storey, a 6-foot point guard out of Baltimore, and Cedric Martin, a 6-4 sophomore at Lee College, in Baytown, Texas. Meanwhile, Utah's J.J. O'Brien continues to explore his options. He is paying a visit to UNLV and remains interested in St. Mary's, a source has told the Tribune.
