Tuesday is pro day for the Utes, a time when pro hopefuls get to show off for scouts. The scheduled participants are: Neli A'asa, Matt Asiata, Jereme Brooks, Brandon Burton, Terrance Cain, Lamar Chapman, Christian Cox, Chad Manis, Joe Phillips, Caleb Schlauderaff, Sealver Siliga, Shaky Smithson, Justin Taplin-Ross, Zane Taylor, Junior Tui'one, Walter Watts, Eddie Wide and Kameron Yancy.
I caught up with Taylor, the offensive lineman from Moab who said he has been working hard to get in even better shape than he was in last fall.
Taylor trained in California with several other former Utes and said he has added even more muscle to his 6-foot-2 frame.
"I'm still about 309, 310 but I'm more toned now," he said. "I'm getting anxious about pro day, but I'm excited about it too."
Taylor met with 15 teams during the NFL Combine and benefited from the experience since several services noted his movement up the rankings.
While he admits he is worried about a lockout, Taylor said he isn't letting it, or thoughts of where he might land, affect his training.
"Our coaching staff always told us to focus on what you can control and that is what I've been doing," he said. "I've been working hard to be the best player I can be the last couple months and all I can do is hope I get a chance."
The latest notes are out on the Utes. Practice has been moved inside today so no fans can attend.&n
