The Runnin' Utes thought they could bring a hot streak to CSU and get a win. Unfortunately for them, Andy Ogide was hotter. The CSU senior had 24 points and 10 rebounds in the Rams' 78-65 win over the Utes, prompting Utah coach Jim Boylen to call him 'a beast.' "He made guarded shots over our centers when we went big and we went small it didn't work and when we tried to double him we couldn't get to him," he said. Prior to Wednesday's game, Ogide was averaging 17.2 points and 7.8 rebounds against the Utes in five career games. Washburn said he knew it was going to be a tough night and gave Ogide credit for his skill. "He was making turn around fades which is especially tough for an undersize guy compared to me and David (Foster)," he said. "He was hitting them and hitting them and gave us all we had." As for the Utes, Josh Watkins had 22 points and a career high nine assists. However, he wasn't happy considering the Utes missed a chance to stay near the middle of the MWC standings. Now the Utes need to beat UNLV for sixth-place, provided New Mexico beats Air Force Saturday. Air Force holds the tie-breaker with the Utes.
