Arkansas State tied the game thanks in part to a controversial pass interference call on Devin Centers. The call came on 4th-and-9 at Utah State's 18-yard line. Arkansas State quarterback Fredi Knighten threw to the left corner of the end zone where Darion Griswold was covered by Centers. Apparently the officials thought he covered him too well, throwing a flag that gave Arkansas State a first down on Utah State's 3-yard line. After a loss of one, Johnston White found a little seam to the right side and scored, tying the game at 14-14 with five minutes to go.
