Arkansas State coach Blake Anderson downplayed any advantage he saw with Chuckie Keeton being sidelined for Saturday's game, noting the Aggies were still successful last year without him. "They've found ways to win," he said during his weekly teleconference call. "We have to do our jobs. Some of our biggest issues in past weeks had to do with our own communication breakdowns and technique breakdowns and we need to do our job and play more soundly and eliminate errors." Anderson said part of Arkansas State's struggles this season is due to youth, with the Red Wolves playing 15 to 16 freshmen. That youth concerns him when going up against the Aggies' defense. "They do a great job covering the run," he said. "They rank high in stopping the run and give a lot of different looks, multiple looks and as inexperienced as we are on offense the different variations we are going to get could create some problems."
