Utah State's volleyball team added another local standout to its 2014 signing class with Shannon McPherron, a 6-foot middle blocker from Sandy, Utah, joining the team. The Brighton High product helped the Bengals to a 22-7 record during her senior year and was a two-time all-region selection. "We're excited to have Shannon as an Aggie," volleyball coach Grayson DuBose said. "She gives us talent and depth at middle blocker. She has the potential to be a great middle blocker for us as she adapts to the college game along with our blocking schemes and philosophies." The Aggies have also signed Taylor Barnson, an outside hitter out of Temecula, Calif., and Rachel Gale, an outside hitter out of Lindon, Utah. The Aggies finished the 2013 season with a 20-11 overall record and a 13-7 mark in MWC play. - Lya Wodraska
