Incoming Aggies wrap up high school careers

While Utah State was wrapping up its season, two incoming recruits finished their high school careers last week. Jojo McGlaston and Carson Shanks didn't get the results they wanted — few ever do, except Jalen Moore — but they definitely got noticed for their efforts to keep their seasons going:

• McGlaston's Gaels went all the way to the NorCal finals, a first-ever for the school, but could not overcome College Park on Saturday. Dublin fell in a 93-90 overtime game, despite McGlaston's record 35 points. He also had 14 rebounds, showcasing the skills that coaches believe will one day make him a solid Mountain West player. McGlaston, a guard prospect for the fall, has not yet signed, but his first available date to do so will be April 17. He says his school will have a signing day event for him.

• Shanks, a 7-foot center, helped Prior Lake win nine of its last 11 games, but the Lakers suffered a first-round upset in the sectional tournament. The Minnesotan now turns ahead to his Utah State career, getting ready for a weights program this summer. It's still unclear if he'll redshirt, because Utah State has significant depth at his position. But the Aggies hope he's a big part of their future. He's already been signed.
