Wednesday's round up of scores and Thursday's schedule from Orleans Arena:
Wednesday
Women's basketball
No. 3 Idaho 57, No. 6 San Jose State: The Spartans led most of the way, but a last-second lay-in by Krissy Karr rolled in at the buzzer. It completed a three-game sweep this season for the Vandals, who face Utah State on Friday.
No. 2 UTAH STATE 78, No. 7 Denver 65: The Aggies never trailed, bursting out to a quick lead and holding on thanks to 13 3-pointers. Jennifer Schlott led with 21 points and Devyn Christensen and Makenlee Williams had 16 apiece.
No. 1 Seattle 77, No. 8 New Mexico State 53: The Redhawks trailed at the half, but came back for 52 second-half points to knock out the Aggies. WAC player of the Kacie Sowell had 23, but Ashley Ward had 24 to lead Seattle.
Louisiana Tech 85, UTSA 58: Four players scored in double figures as Louisiana Tech unloaded on the Roadrunners, already up 15 by halftime. For the game, the Bulldogs shot 58.3 percent, shooting better in the second half than the first.
Thursday
Men's basketball
No. 3 New Mexico State v. No. 6 Idaho: The Vandals look to knock off the "other" Aggies after being knocked out twice in the regular season. The games early this season were decided by a combined three points. Meanwhile, NMSU is trying to become the first team to go back-to-back in WAC tournament championships since Hawaii in 2002.
No. 2 Denver v. No. 7 Texas State: The Pioneers take the court against an athletic Bobcats team they beat twice in the regular season. Denver's slow tempo contrasts greatly from Texas State's running style, and it's served the Pioneers well so far.
No. 1 Louisiana Tech v. No. 9 UTSA: The Bulldogs look to go 3-0 against the Roadrunners and defend their top overall seed. UTSA tries to summon up some mental energy to advance in its first WAC tournament.
No. 4 UT Arlington v. No. 5 UTAH STATE: The Aggies try to knock of the Mavericks, who have been very successful against them this year. The teams both finished 11-7 in conference but UT Arlington beat the Aggies twice.
