Utah State stars reranked following NFL Combine

Aggies Kerwynn Williams and Will Davis had some strong results at the NFL Combine this week, and giving scouts some solid numbers to compare them to the other draft-eligible candidates.

Davis ran his on-field drills Thursday, getting high marks in agility drills and leading the field in the three-cone drill and finishing third in the 20-yard shuttle. He ran an official 4.51 40-yard dash, slower than the top of the field, but still ended up with some of the best drill times and results of the Combine.

The Utah State corner, who finished with five interceptions in his senior season and all-America honors, is still projected as a mid-round pick. Some experts have noted the defensive back position is exceptionally deep this year.

Still, Davis is an intriguing enough prospect that the Denver Broncos decided to have an interview with him as they look to add pieces to their secondary.

Stock kept rising for Wiliams on Wednesday, a day after the Combine ended. Williams was one of the fastest running back prospects in Indianapolis, and ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. pushed him into his list of top 5 running backs in the Draft. Kiper called him, "a sleeper I really like."

Davis dropped out of Kiper's list, once posted at No. 4 among corners.

The Aggies are only a week out from the school's Pro Day on March 7, during which Williams and Davis will have a chance to show off their skills to NFL scouts with the likes of their teammates and fellow NFL hopefuls.
