Good news for Aggie fans: Adam Kennedy doesn't have a broken arm, or wrist.
So so news for Aggie fans: The extent of his injury still isn't known. Gary Andersen doesn't know if, or how long the senior quarterback will miss action for.
USU needs Kennedy, if only for the threat alone. He is now pretty clearly the back-up to Chuckie Keeton. But the Aggies are hurting behind him. Jeff Manning has promise and a high ceiling, but the coaches will do everything they can to redshirt him this year. He appears to be the quarterback of the future.
Kennedy hurt himself in the second half of Utah State's 34-3 win over Southern Utah on Thursday night. He slid to avoid a tackle and immediately grabbed his arm. He was carted off the field in obvious pain.
The fear is that there is ligament damage. But the worst fear was a broken bone, or compund fracture.
And what we know now, at the very least, is that the worst has been avoided.
