USU football: Ohio player reaction from Potato Bowl practice
Published on Dec 16, 2011 05:26PM

Here are some of the things the Ohio Bobcats had to say following practice in Boise

Travis Carrie – Junior Cornerback

On Bowl Week

It’s an exciting week. It’s definitely more of a mental week than usual because you have a lot of time to focus on just football. You can get pretty focused. They give us the first day to relax but as the week goes on it gets serious.

On what it would mean if Ohio could pick up the first bowl win in school history

It would mean everything. It’s great to be a part of history. There’s only a few times that players get a chance to be a part of history, so this would be a big deal for everybody.

Noah Keller – Senior Linebacker

On Tyler Tettleton

He’s just been smart with the ball and smart with what he does. He doesn’t make a lot of mistakes. He does a good job of, when he gets out of the pocket, keeping his eyes downfield and making plays. I never really would have thought it but he’s also a pretty good runner. He’s put up some good numbers rushing-wise.

On his own performance during the 2011 season

“You’ve got to take the good with the bad. I’ve had good games and not so good games. I definitely credit a lot of it to the defensive line, as they’ve done a great job. The scheme I play in and the defense I play in is definitely set up for the middle linebacker to make a lot of plays.”

Tyler Tettleton – Sophomore Quarterback

On the 2011 season

“It’s been great. I try to give a lot of credit to the guys around me because they are the ones that make my job a lot easier. Having all those great players up front really helps out a lot. They are the ones that have made this 2011 season special for me.”

On his 2011 spring season

“I sat out a year before that and redshirted. I took that time to get a little bit bigger and learn the offense a little more and I think it was great because it helped me mature a little more, but the guys around me really helped out a lot.”
