With the success of the football team, Scott Barnes has told the Tribune that he is working on a raise for head coach Gary Andersen and he expects the final details to be completed soon.

No specific dollar amount was discussed. But Andersen made a little over $300,000 dollars this season, and that could be doubled as Barnes said he wants to do his best to keep Andersen in Logan over a long period of time.

Andersen's contract, last season, was extended until 2016.

"We thought this day would come," Barnes said. "As his performance as a head coach has warranted, the time is right to offer a raise."

Andersen's Aggies are currently 6-5 on the season. USU, on Monday, accepted an invitation to play in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl against a Mid-American Conference opponent that's yet to be determined.
