Once thought to be a prime redshirt candidate, Stew Morrill put that to rest in the moments following Utah State's 73-63 win over Adams State in Saturday's exhibition.

Stone only had four points and four rebounds in 10 minutes against the Grizzlies. But his precense was undeniable. He carved out space inside. He rebounded the ball. He changed shots.

"We have to play him," Morrill said. "He's the biggest guy we have."

Morrill speaks the truth. The former Sky View High star has just come off his mission, and he is still very raw offensively. But he's seven-feet and 275 pounds of muscle. Without him in USU's frontcourt, the Aggies may simply be too small against teams like BYU, New Mexico State and Nevada.

"He's the hardest worker I've been around," Brady Jardine said. "He's going to get better and better by the day. You aren't going to outwork him."
