Utah State basketball coach Stew Morrill confirmed on Tuesday that he had been contacted and pursued by Wyoming for their vacant job after the season. Morrill said that he didn't leave Logan because there wasn't much interest on his part to vacat a program that he's spent the better part of two decades building into a regional power.
Wyoming eventually hired Larry Shyatt, so it became a non-story. But it's still noteworthy to see that schools are still pursuing Morrill.
"I've said all along that I thought being the coach at Utah State would probably be my last job," Morrill said. "I still strongly believe that."
