Sometimes Stew Morrill proves that he's not always a hard taskmaster. He knows his team.
That's why he gave the Aggies two days off, with the team returning to practice on Tuesday. With San Jose State and Hawaii coming up this week, along with a mountain of travel, the Utah State players were appreciative of the gesture.
"My legs are as fresh as they've felt for a long time," Tyler Newbold said.
"It's been a good couple of days off," Brian Green quipped.
So what did they do?
There was a lot of television watching, video game playing, some shooting, some lifting, a lot of lying around as well, and studying, of course.
"We didn't do much of anything on Sunday," Green said.
You can be sure that the Aggies had a good, hard practice on Tuesday. And you can be sure that USU is well aware of San Jose and Hawaii, despite the records of the two teams.
"We know that anyone can beat us if we don't play well," Newbold said.
