With 23 points in his debut, Brockeith Pane scored the most in his first game since 1990 when Jay Goodman dropped 33 on BYU.

Pane also drew mighty high praise from Stew Morrill after Saturday's game. When asked if Morrill had coached anyone like Pane, he compared him to Milt Palacio, the former Utah Jazz point guard who played 10 years in the NBA.

Pane got to the basket at will against Weber State, and he did it when his team needed it the most. Pane's ability to penetrate changed the game, and opened things up for all of his teammates.

"The two teams knew each other so well that we needed guys to make individual plays," Stew Morrill said."Brockeith did that for us tonight."

Pane's the kind of slashing guard the Aggies simply haven't had in quite some time. Once he, and Tai Wesley, and the rest of the team got going, they were unstoppable offensively. It will be very interesting to see how teams defend USU as the season goes on.
