There are some shows that make you wonder how they ever made it on a network schedule. Bad Judge (Thursday, 8 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5) is definitely on that list.

Kate Walsh ("Private Practice") stars as Rebecca Wright, an aging party girl/judge ... and hilarity does not ensue.

She drinks too much and has the morals of an alley cat, but she's also compassionate. So we're supposed to like her.

And she's nice to a stereotypical wise-beyond-his-years sitcom child, which is supposed to be endearing but is just annoying.

It would be possible to get past all this if "Bad Judge" were funny. But it's not. It's just painful to watch.
