When Sharknado (8 p.m., Syfy) premiered a year ago, it was a surprise success. The incredibly stupid movie about sharks being lifted in a water spout and wreaking havoc on Los Angeles became a pop-culture sensation.

And that's why we now haveSharknado 2: The Second One (10 p.m. Syfy). It's pretty much the same movie set in New York. It's super dumb, gross, ridiculous — and fun.

By the way, when you get to what seems to be the incredibly stupid ending, keep watching. Something even dumber is about to happen.

Over on So You Think You Can Dance (7 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13), there's still one Utahn in the running. Tanisha Belnap will perform with the other 13 remaining contestants before at least a couple of them are eliminated.

However, a week ago there were three Utahns on the show. That was before Marcquet Hill and Brooklyn Fullmer were eliminated.
