Wednesday on TV: 'Extant' is definitely weird and maybe good
CBS debuts the summer series Extant (8 p.m., Ch. 2) - which is sort of intriguing. Halle Berry stars as Molly Woods, an astronaut who spent the past year all alone in space and returns to Earth pregnant. Which is weird.
So is the fact that she returns to her husband (Goran Visnjic, "ER") and their robot child (Pierce Gagnon). Really.
There's weirdness and conspiracies and sort of stuff. But whether it pans out, only time - and a few more episodes - will tell.
Elsewhere on TV ...
World Cup soccer (2 p.m., ESPN): The second semifinal - Argentina vs. Netherlands
Big Brother (7 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2): The Power of Veto competition is held.
So You Think You Can Dance (7 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13): The top 20 dancers perform; two are eliminated.
Motive (9 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4): Flynn and Vega investigate a skydiving accident.
Taxi Brooklyn (9 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): Cat and Leo investigate the beating death of a Holocaust survivor.
Suits (9 p.m., USA): Mike sets a hostile takeover of Gillis Industries in motion.
Duck Dynasty (11 p.m., A&E): The guys create a new logo and business cards for Duck Commander.
The Bridge (11 p.m., FX): In the Season 2 premiere, Sonya meets a man from her past.
