Thursday on TV: Canadian import 'Rookie Blue' returns on ABC

It's Canada Day on ABC - the north-of-the-border police show Rookie Blue (8 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4) returns for its fifth season.

Which raises the question - if the show has already aired 52 episodes, can these folks really be rookies anymore?

Black Box (7 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4): Black and Bickerman try to remove a bullet from the brain of a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist.

Hollywood Game Night (7 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): Wayne Brady, Lauren Cohan, Zachary Levi, Tara Lipinski, Jaime Pressly and Rachael Ray are the celebrity guests.

Rectify (10 p.m., Sundance): In the Season 2 premiere, Daniel's family fears the worst.

Kate Plus Eight (11 p.m., TLC): Gag. Kate Gosselin once again exploits her children to make a buck. It's grotesque.
