Wednesday on TV: You can watch UVU in the NIT, but not on TV
For the second night in a row, a local team plays in the National Invitation Tournament. On the road. In California. Against a team from a league that includes another local team.
Utah Valley (20-11) takes on Cal (19-13) at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN3, and the Wolverines are hoping to avoid the fate of the Utah Utes, who fell to St. Mary's 70-58 on Tuesday.
There may be some reason to hope, however, The Daily Californian, Cal's student paper, quoted Bears player Justin Cobbs saying, "Nobody wants to play in the NIT" shortly before Cal was eliminated from the Pac-12 tournament.<
