I don't know how well the new show Review (11 p.m., Comedy Central) will work in the long run, but the premiere is surprisingly funny.

It centers on self-professed "life critic" Forrest MacNeil (Andy Daly, "Eastbound & Down") who reviews things that happen in live.

"Whatever life experiences you're curious about, I'll review it," says the seemingly conservative character.

Unlike those of us who offer critiques of, say, television shows, Forrest actually participates in the events he reviews. In the premiere, he works his way up from stealing candy from a story to bank robbery, and ends up giving theft two stars.

He tries to review going to the prom, but his judgment is affected by his previous review of drug addiction.

"Cocaine is amazing! I give it a million stars!" Forrest says. (He does change his mind when he comes down from his high.

I didn't really expect to laugh at "Review," but I did. And anything that is actually funny deserves more stars than theft or drug addiction.
