Tuesday on TV: CBS has 'Intelligence'; ABC counters with 'Killer Women'

CBS and ABC each premiere a new series tonight. Neither show is bad, but neither is anything to get all excited about

Killer Women (9 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4): Tricia Helfer ("Battlestar Galactica") as Molly Parker, one of the first women to join the Texas Rangers. She goes after women killers - thus the title - and the show is better than that sounds.

It's got a sense of humor. And it's a pretty good action/adventure.

Intelligence (previews tonight at 8 p.m. on CBS/Ch. 2; moves to its regular time slot Monday, Jan. 13 at 9 p.m.): JJosh Holloway ("Lost") stars as a former super-soldier who's now an America spy with a computer chip implanted in his brain. And that gives him almost super powers.

In this case, it's not as good as it sounds. It's not awful, but it's not anything you're going to get caught up in.

Elsewhere on TV ...

NCIS (7 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2): Gibbs' ex-girlfriend helps the team search for a stolen drone.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (7 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4): Coulson learns what happened t him after he died in "The Avengers."

The Biggest Loser (7 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): Eliminated contestants - including Utahn Hap Holmstead - have a chance to win their way back into the game.

American Experience (7 p.m., PBS/Ch. 7): "The Poisoner's Handbook" looks at how forensic chemistry helped convicted murderers in the early 20th century.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (7 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13): Rosa's case could help Jake catch a guy he's been after for years.

NBA (7 p.m., ROOT): Oklahoma City Thunder at Utah Jazz
