Tuesday on TV: Coach returns to 'New Girl' for first time since the pilot
Former roommate Coach (Damon Wayans Jr.) returns, and he wants to move back in on New Girl (8 p.m., Fox/Ch.13).
Wayans played Coach in the "New Girl" pilot episode, which aired in September 2011. When he filmed the episode, the thinking was that "Happy Endings" was on the verge of cancellation and he would be available to be a regular on "New Girl."
But then ABC picked up "Happy Endings," which ran for two more low-rated seasons, and "New Girl" added Lamorne Morris as Winston.
And now Coach is back for the first of a half-dozen episodes.
