Wednesday on TV: RSL could REALLY use a win in Portland

Tonight's Real Salt Lake at Portland Timbers showdown in MLS (9 p.m., Ch. 30) is big. Really big.

If RSL wins, it moves six points ahead of Portland (and five ahead of Colorado) in the Western Conference Standings. Portland has played two fewer games, but it would be able to do no better than tie RSL if it wins its two games in hand.

If RSL and Portland tie, RSL will be three points ahead of both Portland and Colorado. And Portland can take the lead with those two games in hand.

If Portland wins, it will tie RSL for the Western Conference and overall lead in MLS. And it will still have those two games in hand.

Big game? You bet!
