(“Under the Dome”, which premieres Monday, June 24, at 9 p.m. MDT on CBS/Ch. 2, is based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel about a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by a massive transparent dome. Courtesy photo)
Monday on TV: "Under the Dome" gets off to an intriguing start

It's hard to give an unqualified endorsement to Under the Dome (9 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2) after seeing just one episode, because of the history of projects inspired by Stephen King books.

A lot of them start out strong and end up in a big pile of disappointment. Which could still happen here.

But the premiere of "Under the Dome" is intriguing. A small town is trapped under an invisible dome, and all sorts of small town secrets start bubbling to the surface.

After seeing the first episode, I want to see more. Which is a very good sign.
