TOTAL BLACKOUT -- "2 Heads Are Better Than 1" Episode 103 -- (Photo by: Syfy)
Wednesday on TV: Surprise! "Total Blackout" is actually entertaining

Total Blackout (8 p.m., Syfy) is the American version of a Danish show. It's on Syfy. It's hosted by Jaleel White ("Family Matters").

And it's actually rather entertaining.

I know - I was surprised, too.

It's a game show in which contestants have to battle their own fears in total darkness. Not just dark. Completely dark. We can see what they're doing through the magic of night-vision cameras, but they can't see anything at all.

It's great fun to watch them get scared. Because a lot of times, they're scaring themselves.

Elsewhere on TV ...

MLS (6:30 p.m., Ch. 30): Real Salt Lake at FC Dallas

Survivor: One World (7 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2): We're being led to believe that some of the dummies on this show might actually turn the tables on the four women who have been running things. But I'll believe it when I see it.

American Idol (7 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13): The remaining contestants perform.

Best Friends Forever (7:30 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): Jessica re-enters the dating pool.

Don't Trust the B--- in Apartment 23 (8:30 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4): James VanDerBeek lands a role in a movie.

Revenge (9 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4): Emily learns who was responsible for her father's murder.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (9 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): Vigilantes take matters into their own hands after a series of rapes.

America Revealed (9 p.m., PBS/Ch. 7): A look inside New York's governing grid control room.

South Park (11 p.m., Comedy Central): In the season finale, Cartman finds love.

Hot In Cleveland(11 p.m.,TV Land): Joy's dying boyfriend proposes.

Happily Divorced (11:30 p.m., TV Land): Fran is out of her element when she goes camping with her boyfriend.
