On this week's episode of "Survivor: One World," we learned that maybe - just maybe - if you act like a total jerk you'll suffer in the end.

Colton Cumbie, the racist bully who had lots of people running scared, suffered an attack of acute appendicitis, eliminating him from the game. And thus perhaps the worst person ever to appear on "Survivor" was gone.

(Note: While the episode indicated he had appendicitis, it turned out Colton had a "severe bacterial infection.")

Where, exactly, this leaves Utahn Jonas Otsuji is hard to say at this point. Except, of course, that he survived to play another week.

Up until the appendicitis, things were pretty much unchanged on "Survivor: One World." Colton and Alicia Rosa were acting as they normally do - totally obnoxious.

It's one thing to make it clear you're going to vote somebody out at the next opportunity. It's another to be childish bullies.

Like when Colton offered Christina Cha his own special brand of advice, telling her she had three options."You can enjoy your last two days. You can quit. Or you can jump in that fire. Whichever is more convenient for you," Colton said as he and Alicia laughed.

You have to wonder if, sitting at home watching Wednesday's episode, they realized how bad they looked.

"Colton and Alicia are kind of interesting," Jonas said, "in the sense that they have to, like, get personal and be, like, 'Nobody likes you.' You know what I mean? It's like it's not enough that they have the power to vote 'em off, they kind of just want to get one last twist of the knife in."

But then came the illness that forced him from the show.

"Colton leaving is a huge game-changer," Jonas said. " I do believe that if there was a karma, Colton got some karma right back at him."

Exactly.

And Colton stuck a knife in Alicia on his way out. He had an individual immunity idol, which he chose to keep instead of passing it to any of the other players.

(Note: Colton is now saying he wanted to give it to Jay, but Jay was on the other tribe and producers would not allow it. Which sounds like a lame excuse.)

Alicia clearly believed he was going to give it to her.

"Colton is a spoiled brat," she said. "He is going to keep the idol for a souvenir."

With Colton out of the game, the balance of power shifted. Instead of Christina being the target, the bullseye was painted on Alicia.

"I feel that now like I have a little more power in the game, it would be wiser for me to vote off Alicia," Jonas said.

One of the members of his alliance, Greg "Tarzan" Smith, had been acting increasingly odd. He wasn't on board with voting out Alicia, "but I don't really care because I'm ready to take the bull by the horns and make myself the ringleader," Jonas said.

But then there was another twist. Not only was no one else voted out on Wednesday, but the two tribes merged into one. And nobody quite knows where that leaves the various alliances and strategies.

We did, however, see Jonas arguing with Tarzan in a preview of next week's episode.

"Survivor: One World" continues on Wednesday, March 28, at 7 p.m. on CBS/Ch. 2.
