Fourteen American Idol (7 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13) semifinalists were chosen on Wednesday; another 10 will be chosen tonight.
And, in its 11th season, "Idol" continues to look increasingly mortal. Oh, it's still a hit. It drew 15.9 million viewers on Wednesday night, which is a very big number these days.
But that was down 2.7 million from the corresponding episode a year ago - a drop of almost 15 percent.
The days of any ol' "Idol" episode attracting 25 or 30 million viewers are long gone.
