Monday on TV: The "How I Met Your Mother" roller coaster ride gets crazier

On the most recent original episode of How I Met Your Mother (7 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2), Robin (Cobie Smulders) told Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) that she's pregnant.

Wow. Didn't see that coming.

Of course, at this point we don't know who the father is. Could be Barney, who slept with Robin not long ago. Could be Robin's boyfriend, Kevin (Kal Penn), who doesn't know about Barney and Robin.

Just when I thought that we could see where this season was going to end up - Barney marrying Robin - we get a curve ball. Which is one of the best things about "HIMYM."

You never know where it's going.

Tonight, there's more craziness involving Robin. And Marshall, who decorates the house on Long Island for Christmas.

Elsewhere on TV ...

NFL (6:30 p.m., ESPN): San Diego Chargers at Jacksonville Jaguars

A Charlie Brown Christmas (7 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4): Classic 1965 animation. (Repeat)

The Sing-Off (7 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): The winning groups from all three seasons perform holiday and inspirational songs.

American Country Awards (7 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13): Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth host.

Gossip Girl (7 p.m., CW/Ch. 30): Dan decides to tell Blair how he feels.

The Closer (7 and 9 p.m., TNT): Somebody tries to kill Santa Claus. Well, a guy dressed up like Santa Claus.

2 Broke Girls (7:30 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2): Caroline and Max try to find Chestnut (their horse) a job. That these two people with very little money have a horse in New York is one of the dumbest things about this show.

Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice (7:30 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4): New animated holiday special.

Two and a Half Men (8 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2): Walden's ex-wife makes an unexpected and unwelcome appearance.

Hart of Dixie (8 p.m., CW/Ch. 30): Zoe coaches Rose for the Miss Cinnamon Cider Pageant.

Rizzoli & Isles (8 and 10 p.m., TNT): A bank manager is shot during a robbery.

Mike & Molly (8:30 p.m., CBS/Ch 2): Molly asks Mike to help with Thanksgiving and the wedding.

Hawaii Five-0 (9 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2): A school bus full of children disappears.

Castle (9 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4): Castle and Beckett wake up handcuffed together in bed - and they have no idea how they got there.
