Frontline (9 p.m., PBS/Ch. 7) repeats its masterful 2002 presentation "Fear and Doubt at Ground Zero," an exploration of how the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center changed the spiritual lives of both believers and non-believers.

Award-winning filmmaker Helen Whitney - who went on to to produce, write and direct the two-part documentary "The Mormons" in 2007 - skillfully weaves together the stories of how people with wildly different outlooks on life coped with the tragedy. And she asks tough questions about the nature of good and evil, whether religion itself can be evil, and whether God could be blamed for the nearly 3,000 deaths.

If you haven't seen "Fear and Doubt at Ground Zero" - even if you have - it's well worth watching.

There's also a considerably different look at the aftermath of 9/11 tonight. The series finale of Rescue Me (11 p.m., FX) comes full circle. The show began with a group of New York City firefighters coping with the deaths of their friends and loved ones at the WTC; it ends with a look back and a look forward.

A surprisingly hopeful look forward.

Before it gets there, however, the guys have to deal with the death of one of their own. It's heartfelt, tragic and absolutely hilarious.

Which pretty much sums up the entire series.
